Historical ruins

Samguija or a chinese character of tortoise, Sammak-sa or temple

  • The letter were written by Ji Woon-Yong(1852~1935), the brother of Ji Suk-Yong who enforced a vaccination regulation in the later part of Choson dynasty while living in retirement at this White Lotus Hermitage. The letter was trimmed in an intaglio, inscribed a Chinese character of tortoise.

The tombstone of Park Suh

  • The tombstone is a stone door of chamber tomb laying up around the roadside of a tomb for a person who had more than rank 2B title. Park Suh (1602~1653) was a civil official during the middle part of Choson (1602~1653) and had served as a governor of Hwanghae province, a ministry of war, a board of works and a minister of war. The tomb stone is in Eungi Ranch at the entrance of Environment Affairs Office and was built in 1665.

Sarira Stupa at the Site of Anyang-sa or temple

  • There are no pagoda body, stylobate and middle stone and Yangyun is inscribed on the top stupa, the bottom stupa stele is decorated in Bokyun with high eight angles of two layers supporting stones. The meaning of Sarira Stupa refers to Buddhists belief and is a Chinese inscription of Sankrit of the ancient India that enshrines monks' relics and ashes after their death.

Dolmen,Pyongchon

  • The Dolmens are all made in southern style and the bottom structures (the chamber of the tomb in the underground) vary in large and a stone coffin chamber, a stone tomb chamber and multiple type chambers were excavated. Due to the excavation of the dolmens in Pyongchon, we learned that the Pyongchon area through Anyang River is a dwelling site of the Anyang region.

Besan-dong Stone-chambered Grave

  • The Besan-dong stone-chambered tomb inferred constructed around Goryeo dynasty. The tomb was constructed in tunnel entrance style located at the top 150m northwest ridgeline of Besan water service office.
